House In The Wood Camp
Operated by the North Shore Board of Northwestern University Settlement

We provide a positive outdoor camp experience for children and families who would not otherwise be able to afford it.
We offer alternatives and options to the negative urban lifestyles many of our campers are familiar with in Chicago.
Some of our children make life-changing decisions as early as age 12. We help them make positive life choices.

Information About the North Shore Board
The North Shore Board owns the lease to the camp property in Delavan, Wisconsin. It is also the board that contributes the majority of its fund raising efforts to camp for both operating and capital expenditures. The big fundraiser for this board is the “Guess Who’s Cooking the Dinner” dinner and auction held in mid October of each year. For more information about this board please click here to e-mail the President of Northwestern University Settlement.

  Guess Who’s Cooking the Dinner
This North Shore Board benefit is held in a downtown Chicago hotel every Fall. In 2006, the Four Season’s hotel played host to the benefit. Cooks from some of Chicago’s premiere restaurants created an elaborate menu. There was dancing, a live band and, of course, the auction.
