Tree Climbing Facilitator

House In The Wood Camp and Outdoor Education Center is hiring recreational tree climbing facilitators. We offer tree climbing activities for children and adults. We will provide the training in exchange for pay half rate for facilitation until the training is paid off.
Looking for someone to start training soon to be ready for summer camp June-August. First job is last week June or possibly earlier and goes until August. We also have random weekdays and weekends in Spring and Fall.
House In The Wood is located in Delavan, WI.
Spring Trail Leader
Job starts mid-March with two weeks of paid training and ends in June.
Trail Leaders teach classes of 10-15 children our Outdoor Ed curriculum. Training, manuals, equipment, supplies and ongoing support is supplied for all staff.
For two weeks, trail leaders Supervise students in the cabin giving them the opportunity to learn and refine essential life skills like communication, cooperation, organization and time management.
This is a residential position. Staff are ON for arrival of students on Monday through departure on Friday. A few weekends are required. Typical day starts at 8am and ends at 9pm. Breaks are scheduled throughout the day. Staff will “turn over” the facility for the next group. A turnover means cleaning lodging and meeting spaces.
Salary is $100 per day with a typical salary of $500 per week. A travel stipend is included from $30 to $200 depending on distance traveled. Tasty meals, comfortable housing, free laundry, and Wifi are also provided.
Staff should be at least 19 and have experience working with groups of children. Teaching experience and a solid background in nature and the outdoors a plus.
Interviewing starts NOW and ends when positions are filled.
ON CALL EDUCATOR
On Call Educators needed throughout the year with the main need in Spring and Fall. Educators teach classes of 10-15 children our Outdoor Ed curriculum. Training, manuals, equipment, supplies and ongoing support is supplied for all staff.
Typical day starts at 8am and ends at 9pm. Breaks are scheduled throughout the day. Staff will “turn over” the facility for the next group. A turnover means cleaning lodging and meeting spaces.
Salary is $100 per day worked. Meals while working are included. Your schedule is available two to four week in advance. Training is paid. The more training you can attend, the more classes you can teach.
