Join our staff this summer....
“Thanks for the opportunity. It is really awesome what you guys try to do and actually pull it off.”--Ryan, first year staff
House in the Wood is a coed resident camp for inner city children from Chicago. Located in Delavan in rural Southeastern Wisconsin, we have a comfortable wooded campus on the shore of a beautiful lake.
House in the Wood’s goal is to provide its campers with positive alternatives to negative urban lifestyles. We expose our campers to a wide variety of different activities, people and cultures so they have a better idea of their choices in life. In addition to traditional camp activities such as swimming, camping and boating, our program emphasizes effective communication, positive group interaction, and mutual respect.
House in the Wood provides its staff with comprehensive training including first aid and CPR. Our staff has every other weekend off. We host 80 boys and girls from ages 7 to 16 each session. We provide three tasty meals and two snacks daily. The camp has a staffed health center.
Our camper population is diverse and we want our staff to be as well.
If you are from a minority population or speak Spanish, we want to talk with you.
“Thank you for an amazing summer. I really am glad that I ended up coming here. The things that this camp does for everyone who comes through it are amazing. I have grown so much because I worked here.” --Aly, first year staff
